List Of Online Video News Sites And Blogs In My RSS Reader
I'm always being asked what sites and blogs I read that cover the online video industry and what's in my RSS reader. I have about 100 feeds in Google Reader from many sites and blogs, some mainstream, others not. You can download my OPML file here and drop it into your RSS reader.
I think it would be really helpful if other bloggers and new sites made their OPML file available. I am always on the look out for niche sites and blogs I can keep an eye on.

No. It would be helpful if people published a list of the sites they read, so readers wouldn't have to blindly import someone's entire library, delete all the duplicates and wait to see which ones they end up liking. This is anti-helpful.

...and Dan did just that: published a list of sites he reads.

All you have to do is open the OPML file in Word and you can see the URL of every site. About as easy as you can get.

Thanks for sharing Dan, this is very helpful. I know you've published your list of video sites in the past but it's nice to see what you're currently reading.

I spend too much time on Bloglines and Google Reader the way it is. How can you absorb all this info? More to the point, have you figured out which blogs/feeds do a better job on a certain topic? How many times do you have to read a rehash of the latest YHOO-MSFT kerfuffle? Reading the same rehash of a well-known story in several places drains my brain.
BTW you are the go to guy for streaming video news!

Hi Drew, you ask a really good question. How can anyone absorb so much info in one day? We can only get through so much and I am no exception. I'd like to have more feeds in my reader but I get more done by only reading those that are really focused.
For me, I read every title of every post in every feed. I can usually tell right away if it is something I want/need to read more about or not. The biggest thing I found that helps is not to get behind. Read your feeds everyday so you can stay on top of them. Also, I check my reader 15-20 times a day and read all throughout the day. That way, doing a few at a time, makes it a lot easier.
And yes, way too many bloggers all cover the same topic and news on the same day. For me, that makes it easy though as if someone is talking about Twitter for example, I skip all posts the moment I see that in the title since I could care less about it. Move on to the next one.

Just tried opening your file and it only had a title, nothing else in the xml. What did I do wrong?

You have to download the file first. If you are on a Mac, hold down the option key and then click on it.
