Free Product Giveaway: VUDU Set Top Box

Images The folks over at Vudu sent me a review unit  of their VUDU set top box and while I really would like to keep it for myself, I feel it would only be fair to give it away to a reader of my blog.

UPDATE: Drawing is now closed. Christopher Bruss from Los Angeles, CA was selected as the winner using a random number picker website.

To qualify to win the unit, all you have to do is leave one comment on this post with a working e-mail address. I will pick one person a week from today using a random number picker website and ship it out to the winner at no cost. (Sorry, U.S. residents only) The unit comes with all of the original materials, box, remote and cables.

While I was planning on doing a review of the unit for my blog, the guys at HDTV Magazine already did such a detailed writeup, along with comparisons of other devices, that I would not have anything else I could add, so I'm happy to point to their review. There is also a good review of the unit from Last100.com

Thanks for the offer!

Looks like a cool device.

Sounds great!!

Thanks!

gimme!

voodoo! voodoo!

Me likey... Me wanty...

Thanks for the offer, man!

How do you do that Vudu?

Thanks for the offer and Vudu for sharing the goods!

Since when did you let someone else's review stop you from breaking down the good and bad? I guess its our gain your giving away the unit..

I try not to write about the exact same thing everyone else does. I don't see that as a value to my readers. If I can't bring a different or unique perspective to the subject, then why repeat something many others sites already said? There is already too much of that on the web.

thanks for the good stuff and for giving away the Vudu

sweet!

Nice

Very kind of you to share.

Hi Dan,

I got a VUDU box couple of months ago, and was very excited with the ease of use and fantastic remote!

I had thought that I would replace my trips to Blockbuster and have the convinience of renting movies from home but when I could not find popular movies such as Top Gun I gave up.

Here are my issues with the box:

1. Very poor selection; Most movies that comprise the 6000 movies are random and no name movies

2. Lack of full screen previews; Most movies do not even have a preview that users can watch before they decide to watch.

3. Several movies that I wanted to rent are only available for purchase.

4. New Releases are not available.

The VUDU box just didn't serve the purpose so I returned it back. (Actually I put it in the mail today).
