Which Newswire Service Is Best For Journalists?
I'm trying to get some feedback on which newswire service is best for journalists who want to be notified via e-mail the moment a release from a particular company or with a particular word hits the wire. While I already get so many releases sent directly to me, and via RSS feeds and Google Alerts, I'm interested to hear what others may be using. I am looking at PRNewswire.com's service for journalists, but so far have not been impressed with the releases it is sending me. I welcome any feedback in the comments section or to me directly.

as a fellow analyst i also struggle with this as many of the available offerings are not optimal, will be interested to hear what your final conclusion is
keep up the great work Dan, and thanks for everything

Business Wire is better than PR Newswire, but since there's no "PR wire service of record," they're all hit and miss -- I've yet to find one that reliably delivers to me all the press releases I'd be interested in.

So far, all the feedback I have gotten from users of Business Wire and PR Newswire is that neither of them provide the type of breaking news service journalists are looking for. Both of them get just "ok" ratings. Seems there is not really anything out there like a Google News Alerts service that have more features.

Try Marketwire. You can sign up for RSS feeds based on specific trades, which are filtered pretty well.
