Free Product Giveaway: Popcorn Hour C-200 Networked Media Streamer
[Update. David Boyll from San Francisco was the winner of the Popcorn unit. Thanks to all those who entered.] The nice folks over at Syabas Technology sent me one of their new Popcorn Hour C-200 networked media streamer units for me to review, but with the Streaming Media West show next month, I won't have a chance to do a product review anytime soon. CNET UK and Engadget did reviews of the Popcorn unit already so check out their sites for some more details.
While the fact I won't have time to review it is bad news for me, it's good news for one of you. Syabas has given me permission to give the Popcorn unit it away for free to a reader of my blog. All you have to do is leave one comment on this post with your real name and a valid e-mail address. I'll pick one user at random on October 26th and I'll even cover the shipping cost to the winner.
Thanks again to Syabas for the gear and the giveaway!

Very nice looking machine, love to have one.

I own a PCH A-110 and love it - I even replaced my HTPC with a similar Syabas-powered NMT device. That said, I consider myself fairly tech-savvy.

Add me to the mailing list
There are quite a few competing units using the same chipset, but this is the only one that allows a Blu-Ray player to be installed into it.
What would make it the ultimate NETWORKED MEDIA PLAYER is the inclusion of a DVB-T card slot. USB may well be able to be used, but we all know how taxing on the CPU that is, that's good rendering cycles being eaten by the USB!
Many of these units have 10/100 network connection - but my reading is that that connection cannot be used from your PC into the Web-page management feature. So to load files into it you either sit next to it with a USB drive or let it go out onto the internet and get its own.
It has a P2P client, but does it have extra P2P software something like PeerGuardian?
