Free Product Giveaway: Microsoft Expression Studio 3 ($599 retail)
The drawing is now closed. Thanks to Microsoft I have two copies of Expression Studio 3 to give away. All you have to do is leave one comment on this post telling Microsoft what you'd like to see in the next version of the product. If you are a newbie to the product, no worries, just leave your contact details. Make sure you use your real name and a valid e-mail
address and I'll pick two lucky users at random at the end of the month. Winners: Lon Van W. from Boise, ID and Logan D. from Seattle, WA.
A big thanks to Microsoft for giving me two copies to give away.

I've only used Expression Encoder 3 (the free version) but I would like to see its live encoding brought up to where WME 9 was. Things like:
- display stats on connected clients (like the "Connections" tab in WME 9)
- ability to whitelist/blacklist client IPs (like "Broadcast Security..." under the Tools menu in WME 9)
- video smoothness encoding setting
Also, fix a glaring UI problem:
- no vertical scroll bar on the Script Commands panel(!!)
Also, make it as stable as WME 9, which has never crashed on me in all the years I've used it. EE3 has crashed a few times in a matter of months.

Oops - I forgot to include my company site - and I didn't see any way to edit my previous post.

I have used the product in trial versions, and I like it. It initially did not seem as user friendly as Front Page was, but it was a huge improvement. I would like to see a feature for automatically creating cgi scripting, and ease the ability to have visitors contact the host of the web-site. Thank you!

I think this product would be good for me to give a try.

I'd like to see it add some sort of transcription. Even if it were rough and I had to edit it. This will become very important for search indexing.

I've been involved with streaming media since the early days of RealVideo, and I'm a longtime Windows Media Encoder user. Recently, I've dabbled with Silverlight, and I would welcome the opportunity to obtain tools that would help me learn it more thoroughly.

I have been using CS3 and CS4 because that is what we used in school, but a lot of folks have been telling me I need to use Expression. I would love to own a copy and have my eyes opened and my mind enlightened.
Regards,
Paul

Would love to see proper integration of Blend into Visual Studio. I know you can export your xaml page from one program to the other, but this is still a pain compared to having the blend designer embedded.

Looking for more batch processing and encoding tools that don't require extensive scripting know-how, nor command line access. Also looking for access to the advanced encoding parameters of the silverlight codec, without hacking the registry!

I've used Expression Encoder, but not Studio. Maybe this will be the opportunity to do so. Thanks Dan and Microsoft!

I'd like to see a Mac version (unlikely I know) and support for building iPhone apps

I'm not new to Expression, but haven't worked with it since version 1, so I don't know what new features have already been added. I'd like to win this new version so I can get back into this creative area.

Currently streaming Flash, used WMV in the past, with problems. I would love to stream live events using Silverlight with the ability to embed and retrieve metadata in real time (but I'd settle for a few frames of latency). HUGE possibilities.

Kudos Dan for giving back to the masses. Expression looks exciting and I would love to get my hands on a copy and see what I can do with it.
