Free Product Giveaway: Xbox 360 Pro Console, LIVE Membership, Messenger Kit
The drawing is now closed. Last month, at the Streaming Media West show, the generous folks from the Xbox team provided us with a bunch of great giveaways. While the items went fast, I still have one Xbox 360 unit that was never given away which will now go to one lucky reader of my blog. The winner will get one Xbox 360 Pro console, a 12 month membership card to the Xbox LIVE service, 1600 Microsoft points and an Xbox 360 Messenger Kit. Winner: Douglas S. from Austin, TX.
In order to make sure the unit goes to a reader of the blog and not some high-school kid who happens to come across my blog, you must leave one post in the comments section below with you name and a link to your company website, LinkedIn page, Facebook page etc... something that proves to me your not some kid just trying to strike it rich. I will pick one lucky reader at random at the end of the month and ship it out. The drawing is only open to U.S. residents.
A BIG thanks to the Xbox team for the great giveaways and for making this possible!

Hi Dan,
I don't live in USA but nevertheless I thought to drop a comment.
I'm involved in the online video domain since 2002 having a web-development company that develop solutions/services for media groups. Here is my LinkedIn profile: http://ro.linkedin.com/in/catalintenita
I've read your blog since 2007 and I think it's one of the most insightful & informative in the domain.
Thank you very much for all the work and passion you put into this blog.
If my comment will be chose randomly I think it will be better to give the console to a charity or a child in need (I already have all the gadgets I want - PS3,Wii, PSP, etc)

I don't use social networking and my companies website wouldn't have anything to prove who I am on it. But I have been posting comments to your blog for a couple of years and I know you look at the IP addresses of posters (because you have mentioned multiple times to posters where they are posting from) You probably recognize me based on my unique location. I doubt you have any other posters from my location.

As a former television engineer (30 yrs), I'm enjoying your blog as streaming is becoming the new TV transmitter. Broadcasters don't see it, sad.

Hey guys,
I am a very passionate actor and personally, I don't think giving away XBoxes is really going to change the shape of video...
As an actor, I can tell you that *video games* and *video* are worlds apart. Video has more to do with talent, the actor in front of the camera, than it does with technology.
Check out some of the ideas being seen through the lens today. Eckart Tolle is about to launch his own TV station!
It's freakin awesome. And I know the reason it's happening is because .tv sounds like television. But if you look at it from my perspective, there is a strong correlation between the internet and television.
Video, on the other hand, is now in the hands of the actor.
Be that an actor *playing* a video game.
Or Christian Bale *playing* batman.
Those are my thoughts.

Anyway, this is the kind of conversation I love having so thank you very much for promoting ideas.

I wish I had an opportunity to make it to the show, but alas that was not to be. I would however love to put the Xbox 360 in my emerging video technology lab and test its functionality with FiOS TV and some of the new and exciting services we have coming down the pike!
Thanks!

I appreciate this opportunity to have one of your readers win. This really is a great prize. However, I don't use social networks and especially not Facebook. Call it weaning away from the influences of society. I've been following your site for a while and although I don't have a site to link you to, I am in college and I am serious about what I do and what I want to be. I hope that's enough to grant me an entry into your generous contest.
Thank you.

Hope the facebook came up correctly. I hope I win because, as a new dad, I'll need an xbox to teach my little boy on... :-) Seriously though, how have I lived without enjoying halo?

I just want to say thank you for sharing your insight and knowledge of the online video/streaming media industry through your blog. I have just recently started following your blog over the last 6 months or so primarily due to my interest in gaining a greater understanding of streaming media technologies. I.E. - Live broadcasts, Silverlight, etc... Your blog is by far the best resource that I have come across... Thank you! Kind Regards
