SlingBox Is Still The Ultimate "TV Everywhere" Device, And I'm Giving One Away
(UPDATE: the drawing is now closed) With all the fragmentation amongst device manufactures and content providers, I still think the one device to beat in this market is the SlingBox. With a Slingbox, you can access your full linear TV lineup wherever you go
from your computer or mobile device. And with a dedicated SlingBox app for the iPad to be released shortly, for TV Everywhere,
nothing beats a Slingbox.
And thanks to the very generous folks at Sling Media I have another Slingbox PRO-HD unit to give away to a lucky reader of my blog. To be entered into the drawing, just leave one comment on this post with your full name and a valid email address and I'll pick one lucky winner at random on Sept 15th. You must have a U.S. postal address as I will not ship these overseas. Congrats to Jim Doyle who won the last drawing. HUGE thanks to Sling Media for the boxes! Congrats to Steven M. from Washington who won the drawing.

June 30th? That's a long wait for a slng box, but count me in.

Agree 100% with your assessment of Slingbox as the product to beat for TV Everywhere. This may just push me over the edge to get an iPad! Thanks, Dan.

Hey Dan -
I'been toying with the idea of upgrading my Dish system to the top of the line model that includes Slingbox functionality. Trouble is, I don't travel much anymore! But it sure would be nice to be able to watch Mariners games whenever and wherever I want... as painful as that may sound...

While the Slingbox is a great device, users still have to contend with spotty internet connections when they are traveling. Its one thing to have a great connection at home, but you never know what is going to be available as you move around.

I still question the quality of Sling...they should adopt the adaptive protocol

Dan, have you had a chance to try Slingcatcher? I waited for that kind of product for long but haven't heard much good reviews so far. What's your thought on that Sling product?
